'Gyrographs' are created with a high-end digital camera. The image is not computer rendered or enhanced; instead, it is a long exposure of a rotating table of moving lights. The mechanism comprises a series of rotating wheels, gears, pulleys and cogs, whose speed and centre of oscillation can be varied. Although purely photographic in execution, the technique can be described as a form of painting with light.
